Traqmate no longer producing Traqdash system or Traqmate basic :(

Andre' at traqmate told me they can no longer get the components to make the systems. This happens all the time in the electronics business, parts go EoL (End of Life) and a redesign is required.

 

That may have been the last straw if they were struggling to begin with.

Shit happens to everyone that is beyond their control. The question is now, what will they do with the software (firmware and analysis) they do control? Will they continue to support it and improve it? Will they make it open-source? Will they sell it to a competitor who will likely kill it?

I've offered to work (at no cost) with TM to keep the software going. I've not heard anything back after that discussion. PM me if you have interest in supporting an open source consortium for the software.

I have hesitated from commenting on this thread, because I don't want to add insult to injury. It's a shame, as Traqmate was at the right price point for the SM crowd and when it worked years ago it was the best bang for the buck.

 

We have become an AIM dealer and would be happy to work with anyone on replacing their Traqmate with an AIM system. We have AIM MXL2 dash with SmartyCamHD in our SM and Spec Boxster. All of our new builds have AIM. We also do a lot of consulting and data support for clients, as well as full installs.

 

For SM we run lambda, oil pressure, water pressure, fuel pressure, water temp, brake, throttle, and probably a few other sensors I've forgotten.

 

We will be hosting another AIM seminar at our shop this winter. Working with Roger on dates. Any interest in the Sunday and Monday after the ARRC?

If we were smart, with a number of people in the same boat, we should be looking to see if AIM would consider a group buy. I could see significant numbers making a change.

 

Then follow that up with another round of Live Chat or what ever we did last time to learn Data.

 

We could get Todd Lamb to do a seminar or someone from Aim or both.

Just an update on Traqmate service. I had a problem with my Traqdash display, When i would go out on track the screen view would change to different screens several times a lap, also it would sometimes not find a signal and it would just freeze, It would not turn off so i would have to unplug the power.

 

So i went on line filled out a service ticket. Glen emailed me indicating he knew what the fix was. I shipped it to him and within about 10 days I had it back. Total cost with return shipping 88.00. I have not tried it yet but so far the service and support has been fantastic.

That's good to hear Frank.   I really hope someone buys up the remains and brings that product the rest of the way home.   They were close to having an incredible product if they could solve those couple of GPS glitches.

I know Traqmate is gone. And this thread was a few years ago. Does anyone have a Traqdash they want to sell. Or does anyone know if Glen is still repairing units. I have left several messages but havent heard back. Bad timing with Corona. Any info would be helpful.

I am sure I have atleast one complete traqdash and traqmate system maybe more than 1

I have a new dash, old dash, the control unit, and one GPS (maybe two) antennas, bunch of cables. CD also.

As others have mentioned, I know Traqmate is no longer supported.  Does anyone have a source for more recent firmware updates?  One of the guys that races with us does not have his USB port enabled yet.  I'm hoping we can find a more recent firmware to enable it.
