I appreciate everyone's kind words. I needed a few days before I could say anything, as I was just too emotional. I am still in complete shock that this happened and just can't believe it. I have known John Carter since I started racing SM and joined the Autotechnik team in 2012, but over the last couple years, we grew a lot closer. He was my teammate, my partner, my bash brother, but more importantly ... he was a great friend and like family to me. He was a very big part of the Autotechnik family, and he always will be. Our Autotechnik family is hurting, but I can't imagine what his family must be going through, and my thoughts and prayers are with them.
He was quite the interesting person to say the very least. He was like a Charbonneau Jr, but even nuttier and he knew how to make anyone laugh in any situation. He was also very talented in anything he has ever done. From a Junior Olympics swimmer back in high school, to an awesome wheelman in a racecar, to a great coder on the computer. We could tell stories about John Carter all day long and never get tired of it because they were always just so crazy and funny. He lived life in the same way he raced a car. Full throttle, not slowing down for anything or anyone, and just giving no f*cks and that is just a few of the reasons why we loved him.
Every race weekend when he was there, it was a better weekend, and now the racetrack will never be the same. If you didn't know John Carter, you really missed out on meeting one of the funniest, kindest, and most interesting people you will ever know. He will be missed dearly.
Stack some shit up in heaven, brother!
