While I don't believe cheating is near as bad as others do.. What you posted above is all that will stop people.  If you know getting caught for whatever is deemed "cheating"  comes with a mandatory 6 month or 1 year penalty.  People would think twice. In this case where there was no mistake and clear intent a 6-12  month vacation would be a deterrent IMO. The issue is where to draw that line, There are non compliance issues that I believe are non intentional, but who knows and you cant police intent on most of these infractions. With that being said, I would still favor a 12 suspension for any of the more serious infractions

SCCA needs to something to deter future(blatant) cheats. just letting it slide does nothing to stop future cheats.  Yes it's time to move on, for some that might mean finding the next cheat.

Also interesting is that refusing an inspection in the SCCA does not result in the annual being revoked or any other restrictions on running the car involved. Change drivers and good to go. SRF is an exception but driver is penalized for 30 days not 6 months and receives no penalty points.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming. Sorry for the interruption.

It is interesting that refusing a teardown comes with a much harsher penalty than actually being found non-compliant.

Event disqualification, 6 month
suspension of competition privileges,
$250 fine, and 6 penalty points

A few years ago in the CenDiv there was a letter for all CenDiv races with as I recall, very harsh penalties for cheating. I've reached out trying to find a copy of said penalties. Cheat or not, the letter should have gotten everyone's attention, there were no if's and's and maybe's.

As mentioned by someone else earlier, maybe it should be a new thread to discuss what the penalty should be for a blatant/intentional cheat.  Seems to be where this discussion is going ...

I understand the original post from a former marine.  Like him i served for most my adult life.  Never once have I ever consider cheating an option in our class....    Not because I can't; but.. what in the heck is the glory of victory when you know you had an advantage someone else didn't have?

Take a knee and drink some water brother..

Yes.. I suck.  But, I can guarantee you I will never make a change or modification to the car that is not compliant.

Don't know Danny very well.  Nice enough guy I guess.  Talked with him a few times.  Always seemed like I was bothering him so.. He's a busy man.

I know the man got on here and gave his apology and that's good enough for me.

I just need to build a new car now..   lol...

"To the OP, how about saying what you think to the man's face instead of posting it on a forum."

"Lol, he did. At the Chateau bar, right in front of everyone, including Kim"

I am shocked!!! I saw nothing about this on "Spec Miata Man Drama." Boy, their content has really been slipping lately.

THAT is a really good point!  Talk about an ethics violation----I'm OUTRAGED!  Is no part of the world safe from Media Bias?  I think we should launch a full-scale investigation, and have countless hours of congressional hearings!!!  Lets find out who this SMMD feller is and see what (s)he has to say for him(her) self.

Down with SMMD!

some say the “drama man” aka Larry is so far off the pace he is still trying to finish the last race he was in.

Left turn Clyde!

I hear a lot about the rear camber, the rear sub frame gets tweaked a little and no camber. Why not allow the same as we do on the front? Is it that big a deal to allow a cheaper method of getting camber in the rear?
