Spec Miata Restrictor Plates Now Available Direct From Mazda Motorsports

SCCA and NASA-approved restrictor plates are once again available directly from Mazda Motorsports.

The plates, which had been temporarily unavailable through MazdaMotorsports.com, fit Spec Miata rules and come in 38mm (for the 1999-2000 Miata) and 40mm (2001-2005 Miata) sizes.

The Mazda Motorsports plates come stamped with the Mazda logo, part number and size in a position to be read without removing the plate from the car. The 38mm plate is purple, while the 40mm plate is natural aluminum in color.

A bonus piece of the redesigned plate is that it follows the contour of the throttle body to allow the ground wire harness attachment point to be used.

How much do these cost?

The 38mm plates for the 1999-2000 Miata (0000-06-5238-99) and the 40mm plates for the 2001-2005 Miata (part number 0000-06-5240-01) are available for $48.25 through MazdaMotorsports.com.

Wonder if these have a similar or tighter tolerances than the Enterprise plates. Most plates I have measured are around 0.5mm on the tight side. Guessing this is to cover less than precision tools used in the tech sheds?
