Sad to report the passing of another Sm Racer.  I didn't know brian all that well but he was a good friend to many in the Great Lakes region.   GodSpeed Brian.

Jim

Brian R. Naumann, 41, of Milford, MI, formerly of Parma, unexpectedly passed away on January 22, 2019.

He was born in Davenport, IA, the beloved son of Philip and Sue (nee Lipchinsky) Naumann.  Brian is the loving brother of Leslie (Kevin) Hadlock and Megan Naumann; dear nephew of Joanne Walton, Lois Snyder (deceased), Robert Naumann (deceased), Michael Lipchinsky (deceased) and Mary (Andrew) Giordano; cherished grandson of the late Henry and Etta Naumann and Bernard and Margaret Lipchinsky; loving cousin of many.

If you knew Brian, you knew his love for racing. When he was younger, he was determined that when he grew up he wanted to be an organist or a race car driver. It is clear the path he chose and he never looked back. Shortly after he graduated high school in 1995, he started living his passion which continued throughout his college years. His love for cars extended into his professional life and inspired him to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. Brian was always competitive in nature and excelled academically; he had his own way of doing things and confidently lived by his own rules.  Brian will truly be missed by many, but never forgotten. Although he has crossed the finish line of life, memories of Brian will live on forever.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 5PM-7PM at the Sunset Chapel in Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted where memorial services will commence on Friday at 7PM.  His final resting place will be at the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.

So sad to hear this.  We had the chance to get to know Brian at the Indy Runoffs and recognized his capability and talent.  Always respected his opinions and posts.  He was an asset to the class and will be missed.

Was sad and surprised like everyone. Brian was a Great lakes regular, he was improving dramatically over the last year or two. He was a little shy and laid back for sure. Pleasant to be around and talk about the days events. He will be missed.

This came as a shock to us down here in FL as well. I got the pleasure of meeting him at the Indy runoffs and I won't forget it. Back when I was participating in a lot of shenanigans on here and on FB, stirring stuff up in the SM world, here comes this goofy, smiling, guy taller than me, named Brian Naumann. He introduced himself and asked if I was Danica Davison, and said he was a big fan. We have always stayed in touch ever since.  As silly as it sounds, I really don't forget those moments and I definitely won't now.

He also came down to Sebring at the Turkey Trot this past year with Justin Hille and Alex Piku, just to hang out and have a good time, and boy did we have a great time.  One of the nicest guys you will ever meet, a real asset to the SM community, and like others have said, he was really finding his way behind the wheel and his name was climbing the charts very quickly.

It is a shame when such nice people are taken from us at such a young age. I pray for his family and friends both at the track and at home. Rest in Peace, Brian.

One of the best things about Brian is the "Brian Way" He defiantly marched  to  different tune in a great way. We would talk for hours on end just about stuff. He was an incredibly smart man. One thing you could always count on is seeing Brian first thing every morning with an egg McMuffin, Never fail. God Speed my friend.

Same sentiments here.  Met him for the first time at a Mid Ohio regional when I was getting experience before the Mid Ohio Runoffs.  We had a nice talk since he had done some work out at the Nissan proving ground in AZ so he knew some of the people I regularly work with.

Spent plenty of time hanging out with him at the Mid Ohio and Indy Runoffs talking setup and doing fireball shots from the Box over at Ralph's trailer. I was looking forward to doing the same at VIR.

Going to miss you bud.
