DAYTONA here we come - This is going to be FUN

For anyone who has raced Spec Miata at Daytona, you know how much FUN it is and what a crap shoot it can be. If you are not getting a draft or being pushed, you are going to be cleaned up. This is the track where drafting is ALL IMPORTANT. Almost 2 seconds a lap faster with help than your best lap on your own. So much fun.

Back in 2014 I posted a video entitled "THIS IS WHY I LOVE SPEC MIATA", and it has had 45,000 views to date, but unfortunately back then I uploaded it in low resolution as I was bandwidth limited, so I decided to re-edit and re-encode it and it is now looks a lot better (but still not full 1080p though) 

Join me for this wonderful race that features Andrew Carbonnel, Selin Rollan, Andrew Charbonneau, Matt van Vurst, Jamie Tucker, Cory Collum, Thomas Burt, Chris Amon, Denny Harrell and many more. 

Two of the priceless moments are...

1. 8:00 - Shortly after the first restart, getting onto the oval in 6th, getting to the bus-stop in 4th watching 1 thru 3 spin out in front of me, exit the bus stop in 1st and get to Turn 1 in 8th. I kid you not
2. 18:30 - On the last lap I go for the pass over Carbonnel for the win, only to end up 3rd behind Rollan and Tucker - DOH!

Do the FL Spec Miata warriors (other than yourself) pretty much stay at home???

I think that many of the Autotechnik and BSI racers feel they get better value for their money by racing local regionals. It has got costly making the trek and entering the Super Tour events.

Expecting to see many of them next weekend at Daytona

Continuing off what Danny said, yes we do. Why leave FL to spend 3x the money at Super Tours / Majors, when we get racing like what is seen in Danny's video ... every regional weekend.  A lot of us in the Autotechnik camp just don't care anymore about the super tours and majors.  We have a lot more fun just staying in FL. It also always makes it better when the other guys at the top of the Majors game like Selin Rollan Jr, P$ Pardus, Todd Buras, Danny Steyn, and Michael Carter all show up and join in on the fun.

Wish we could get the Texas boys, Drago, and the Northerners, to come throw down with us on a Daytona regional weekend and have some fun with a lot of track time.

Looking forward to this race. Last time Michael and Danny showed up, they kicked our asses, but we will hopefully do a better job this time

I was going to fly down and watch, but staying here and taking care of dogs

Why isn’t anyone live streaming anymore? Just too much hassle? This would be a great one for it.
