Had a 2013 Ford Edge 2L ecoboost with a 6 speed automatic non-adaptive cruise control. Worked as expected flat road, uphill road and downhill road. Downhill it would sometimes downshift three times keeping the speed within 2 mph of cruise control setting. Cruise control life was good and again as expected.
Today have a 2019 Ford Edge 2L ecoboost with 8 speed automatic non-adaptive cruise control. The cruise control sucks as compared to the 2013 cruise control. On a downhill road with the cruise control set at 30 mph the transmission will not downshift and reaches 38 mph. On a different hill with the cruise control set at 35 mph the transmission will downshift 3 times and reaches a speed of 50 mph. The car gains roughly 5 mph per shift accumulative to reach 50 mph. Life is not good and the speed is 15 mph over the set cruise control speed. When doing a normal coast towards a stop light I can feel the car downshift. Over a year ago I went through this information with the dealer, their response, TFB, in nicer terms.
I want to know which gear the car is in whenever and am looking for a hopefully plug in gear indicator light. Anyone know of such a light???
Thank you
