Something different??

In an effort to get our minds off Covid, Politics, and just a shitty 2020 in general...I find music to always be a break from the grind! To each is own in what you enjoy but across the board this has been a hard hit industry...Especially the majority of incredible artists who are just scratching out a living on the fringes.

Listened to all forms in my life and enjoy most! Currently on a more Western, Country, Bluegrass run. Here is a guy I doubt you have heard of but one of the best young Flat Pickers in the country...Trey Hensley!

1st link is for you hard core rock and rollers...Covid Van Halen guitar cover in his home.

2nd Link...a parking lot dual with Jake Workman(another incredible flat picker).

Lastly. Trey has an incredible voice though this cover really doesn't highlight that...just another incredible display of his guitar talent.

If you like this...More Artists worthy of a you tube/spotify search if you have not heard of them!

Billy Strings, Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Tommy Emmanuel, Charlie Crocket and The Dead South!

Share up what you enjoy...especially if its not necessarily mainstream radio play...any flavor!!

Definitely dating myself here.  Oingo Boingo played in the student union of my college in the early 80's.   Fantastic show, just a few hundred people in attendance, probably paid $10 or $15 bucks for a ticket.  Fast forward to recent years, Danny Elfman the main member of the band has composed something like 100 movie scores since the late 80's.  In interviews Danny will  barely acknowledge that he led a rock band.  He loved Halloween and did concerts most years on are around that date.

Here's a couple clips from back in the day.

Finally, I spent my youth as a drummer.  In the 70s and 80s that wasn't possible without being a Rush (Neal Peart) fan:

And...just for fun....here I am in all my coolness...back in the day:

For a more laid back vibe....My wife and I first saw Susan Tedeschi back in 1998 or so, when we lived in Colorado.  We saw here at a movie theater turned into an SRO micro-concert hall.  No chairs, stadium..nuttin. Just a stage, an open floor and a bar in the back.

Susan Tedeschi can melt butter with her voice...but listening to Derek Trucks play the guitar will make you forget all your troubles...Top 10 all time in my book! Seems like I've listened to him my whole life(Allman Brothers)yet he is only 41...and married to Susan Tedeschi!

Seeing artist in small venues up close is always a treat. Was sitting same row as this video a few years back...thanks for the segway Tom...the irony of this cover is not lost today!

Brandi Carlile and John Paul White(Civil Wars formerly)
