This is on a 1.6

I replaced the clutch and pp with an ACT full face HD back in 2010.  Been racing on the same clutch since then although I took a few seasons off.

After the last race weekend when I was putting the car away in the garage, I noticed that the clutch pedal engaged very very low - lower than it normally does.

I know the hydraulics are a wear item and have already replaced the slave with no change.  Going to replace the master too.

Also, I checked the free play and I now know that it hasn't changed.  The jam nut is rusted tight!

Could the low engagement point also be a symptom of a worn clutch disk?    I have never worn out a clutch before so excuse the ignorance. :)

Thanks.

I've always associated a high pedal with disc wear...basically as the disc/PP/fly wheel lose material the smallest amount of travel down on the clutch disengages the drive. So the pedal being low when drive is engaged...first check travel on your slave! Go from there! If I remember correct the arm should move 3/4"-1"??

Thanks.  Waiting on a clutch master.  Slave alone didn't fix it.

If that is the original clutch master I would replace it anyway. Its time.

Thanks.  It's not.  I know I replaced one in 2010.  Can't remember if I did another since then but I don't think I did.

Check to see if the little rubber bumper for the clutch pedal is still there. When they break off, the clutch pedal fell can change........................

Refreshing this with new info.

Did a new master and slave - made no difference.

Got a new ACT 4 puck plus pinion and TO bearing - no difference.  I was concerned that maybe I had broken a spring in the disk or fingers on the PP after 10 years of use or the release/to bearing had gotten crushed.  Nope, the ACT HD was perfect as was the TO.

Looks like there is something wrong with the pedal assembly itself.  Unfortunately, the assembly is rusted together so I can't make any adjustments to the pedal.  Ordering a new one tomorrow hopefully.

Well at least you have a fresh clutch and hydraulics.

Lol yeah I guess :)

The clutch pedal fixed the problem.

Anyone want to buy a slightly used ACT clutch?  Disk measured 8.3 mm in thickness so barely any wear.

On a side note, if the rubber bumper does fall off, the hole it was stuck through is the right size that the plunger from the clutch sensor can fall into it (but won't do it every time) and the ECU will think the clutch pedal is depressed when it isn't.  Ask me how I know ;)
