what type of clutch cylinder brake fluid

The clutch reservoir cap calls for Dot3 brake fluid, but I'm wondering if I need racing brake fluid for it? What do you use for your Spec Miata?

I use Motul 600, because it's what is use for the brakes. I bleed the clutch at the beginning of each season. Never had any problems (knock wood). It's not under the same pressure and heat load as the braking system.

I'm running some DOT 3 clutch fluid that I found at the auto parts store before I knew that DOT 4 race stuff was OK to use.

I'm actually about to change my slave cylinder. According to miata.net threads, one of the symptoms of a failing slave is black fluid. Mine is original and does require a couple of pumps of the clutch pedal at startup to engage the gears. I replaced the clutch master a few months ago.

Dave at Advanced Autosports has a nice braided clutch line that makes bleeding simpler.

i use 4 because it feels like fourplay you must use this product just because

Keep it simple, use the same fluid as your brakes. If it works in the brakes, it will be overkill in the clutch

+1 on using the fluid that use in the Brake's. Personally, I use Super Blue (and it's other colored variant). I used to use Ford High Temp Brake Fluid, which has a high temp range.

Also, if you don't know how new the Slave Cylinder is, replace it. That's alway's the first think I do on every NA I have ever bought.
