TOPEKA, Kan. (June 30, 2011) – Following the trend set by the Sports 2000 class, GT-Lite competitors have put together an incentive package for their own class, encouraging drivers to qualify and attend the 2011 National Championship Runoffs®, with a focus on racers not having run the two most recent Championship events.
One Road America Runoffs “rookie†will be drawn at random to win $1,000 cash courtesy of FGR Consulting. The driver may be a Runoffs veteran, but must be competing in their first Runoffs at Road America in GT-Lite.
Additionally, all GT-Lite drivers competing in the Runoffs will be eligible for one of a number of prizes donated by companies supporting the GT-Lite class. These prizes include:
- 1 case of Red Line Oil courtesy of Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies
- 1 case of Red Line Oil courtesy of Auto Expectations
- $100 gift certificate toward REM or Cryo treatment courtesy of Cryo Science Technologies
- 1 axle set of Performance Friction brake pads
“There have been a number of factors leading to a decline in GT-Lite participation this year,†GT-Lite competitor Kyle Disque said. “While there are certain factors out of our control, Bobby Lentz and I thought this would be a good way to thank the racers for coming out and supporting the class this year. We thank the companies that have generously supported this effort and welcome any others to contact us to become involved.â€
Prizes will be drawn Friday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. during the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at the Toyota tent.
The primary sponsor behind the incentive package is FGR (Four Guys Racing) Consulting, a strategic business consulting company located in Leesburg, Va. It is focused on helping federal contractor companies drive and change the front end of the business cycle. FGR also operates a racing team of four owner-prepared and raced cars in SCCA’s GT category.
