It was hotter the #$%^ this weekend in Hallet, Ok. Reynolds had a thermometer showing 106 in the shade :( Sunday was a little better, but not much. Saturday regional Matt led flag to flag unchallenged, I had crank trigger issues towards the end of the race and pulled in, but he had me covered anyway. I started trying to work on getting the car a little better, which I knew was going to be tough as it was already pretty good, I just got beat :( I used STU to dial in the car for later in the stint. It paid off. My car was really good in the national. Seemed like most were slipping and sliding, my car was glued, probably one of the best handling cars I have ever raced. It was one of those times you just want to keep going as you know you may never get it this good again :) Even in the tremendous heat, it was still really fun to drive. Matt and I went side by side a few times, but nothing like the last time. We split the wins this year. Matt really puts on the pressure and never makes any mistakes, a lot of fun to race with that guy, win or lose.
Chris Haldeman is really coming on as well, he finished a strong third.

Congratulations to Sam Henry who won in both FP and EP, also to Ren Tucker who won ITA.

Great seeing a lot of long time friends that I just don't get to see often enough, always lots of laughs at this one. Great track, great people and great racing.

I was on the pole for the group 4 race (in the AS car), with Drago on the outside pole. Matt was behind me, in 3rd. I told Drago that, for $100, I would miss a shift at the green. The cheap bastard wouldn't pony up, so I started from the back with Richard Kulach in the T2 Nissan. Neither one of us wanted to mess up the SM race. After a couple of laps Richard and I moved through the field to end up behind the top 3 in SM. I was really tempted to give Chris Haldeman the bump draft of his life (running 3rd), but I didn't really know him and didn't want to put him in the weeds. Anyway, Drago's car was on a rail. He turned the same lap time pretty much every lap, and Matt never had anything for him. Not as much fun to watch as the last Hallett race, when they swapped the lead several times per lap. In impound they took the temperature inside my car. It was 161º. Would have killed a normal man.

Hallett was hot as S*** I had a nice spin during the STU race, completely losing the brakes going into turn 2, I thought it would be better to spin off to the outside of the turn instead of rearranging the tire wall, bent a wheel, destroyed a tire, ripped off the splitter, bent a tie rod, lower a-arm. I've totaled it up to around a $800 spin so far. With out hitting anything. good times...the weather needs to cool down, at the very least
