How to drain fuel using the fuel test port?

I just tried using the Miata Cage fuel test port on my car to drain fuel. The power was on, the key was turned to the power on position, I jumpered the Ground and FP on the diag box. Nothing came out. Tried it a few times. Trying to figure out why it isn't working.
Is the test port supposed to be on a specific one of the 2 hoses? Mine is installed on the opposite one of the hose pictured here:

Thanks for the input.

I recently pumped the fuel out of my tank and it tool 10 or 12 times of fiddling with the paperclip between the Ground and FP before I finally heard the "click" and the fuel started to flow. Keep trying!

You're not the first and won't be the last. I had the same question - lost somewhere on the old website.

I'm sure. I even did look at the old web site but the search sucks there and I didn't see anything with pics. I started my blog for reasons of this nature.

For searching the old site, use google. "Site:specmiata.com <search term>"
One problem is that since the old site didn't host most of the pics and links, there are lots of dead links now. I looked up "steering lock disable" today and based on google, Juan's pics are the gold standard used in everyone's posts, blogs, etc. and they're dead links. Other links to relevant threads within the site didn't work out either.
Lots of topics once beat to death might be very relevant again to people doing it the first time or who forgot what they did the last time.

It would be better if this site hosted its own images, but I suppose that would create hardware issues for the servers, if everyone had unlimited storage.
Btw, I host all my own images. I happen to have pictures of the steering lock disable if you need them.

Find your drain hose, pop the lid, short the block - done!
