Here's a lap from Sunday's race in my FP Miata. This is Heartland's 2.1-mile config that eliminates Turns 5-7. Actually liked the configuration. Unfortunately, it was 100 degrees with a 110-115 heat index, which takes a lot of the fun out of racing (as well as the grip!)

Config only was run once prior to this weekend since the re-configuration of 2007, so this lap set a new record at 1:31.995.

Looks fun! Especially the gearbox! I drove by HPT when I was in Topeka last year but haven't driven it. It looks more fun from the in-car than a drive-by would suggest.

This is my favorite, of the four configurations. I think this may be the first National that we have run on this one. With the exception of the carousel, this line is exactly like I run in the ASedan. I can't hold the DoT tires in quite that tight.
