I just bought a 1991 Spec Miata. It had been involved in an off-track (on-track?) incident where the rear end took a pretty good hit (needed chassis straightening). Since then, the engine will run for about 10-15 seconds and then die. It can be started right up again, but then the same thing happens. Before it dies, it feels like it has great power, i.e. running normally. Any ideas on what to check for what is wrong? I thought maybe the fuel pump was damaged, but don't want to start pulling things out needlessly. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Dan

Try swapping the AFM. May be unrelated to your accident or the wiper might have gone past the stop which would cause the symptoms you are describing.

Check the ground at the back of the engine and PPF, if it broke check the motor mounts while your at it.

Do a visual/hand run of the fuel hard lines, they may have been pinched when the chassis was straightened.

I had exactly the same problem- after having a new cage welded in to a car.... Turned out to be the earth connection from the battery to the chassis- after painting the car, the earth point to the chassis wasn't ...well... Earthed. But it looked perfect. Removed the bolt, scraped to bare metal and reattached. Problem solved ! Sounds simple, but I tell you... Took a bit of figuring out.( also FYI the multimeter resistance readings were good too)
