I was putting my car away after the long weekend and noticed a gap in one of the little circle things in the trunk. I have no clue what they are attached to... maybe they are subframe guidance tabs? Anyway, any idea what they are and any idea why mine might be popping out? Every other car I have ever seen, these are flush with the bottom panels.

The trunk, you can see the 2 circles, the one on the left is the one I am talking about:

There are two more of those further forward. They are actually the studs that the rear sub-frame mounts to.

My 1990 does not have the valley that creates the gap under the weled on flat washer. No valley, flat under the washer & rearward.

That was the only thing I could think they were... So... the fact that mine are popping out means that they are likely loose... Greeeaaattt... Posted Image

I'll tighten them up this weekend. Thanks!

Do you know if these are welded in and mine are now broken? Do you think that this one popping up is going to cause any problems for me?

I put new sub-frames in my car but don't remember if there welded or not.

It's a 12mm (.472 inch diameter) stud that passes through a frame part of the chassis with a .823 inch diameter head turned on the head end of the stud along with a big ol flat washer welded to the head.

You might compare your valley gap to another car or two of same year.

Before wrenching anything string & camber your car.
