I am having trouble making my two races this year. I trashed a head in the first test day of the season at VIR. I replaced the head and rebuilt the lower end only to end up with a motor with 8hp less than I had. The car is not competitive at all. I am considering running the MARRS Labor Day double but really don't want to be a rolling roadblock.

Does SCCA have any provisions to get a license extension based on hardship? I really can't afford to rebuild the engine right now.

I believe every division has a licensing liasion to the National office (the person you would email if you wanted a National license without the requisite experience in the previous year). They would be the person to start with probably.

Brian's right. I got an exemption last year. Was asked to provide a complete race resume, but beyond that it was straightforward.

The Divisional License Chairman can grant waivers for licensing. Generally, most are like Mike and take care of waivers without any hassle. The various names can be found here:
https://ams.scca.com...webcode=bc1home
You have to sign in with your member number and password. Go to Divisional Race Administration. This is also the site where you can get the names of all of the members of the various boards and committees.

If you are down 8 hp, RUN THE CAR !!!!!!

8 hp should equate to about .75 seconds per lap. My 99 rental gains 8 hp when I remove the plate. Makes me go about .75 seconds faster when I run ITS.
