I thought I would get this one going, seeing as how all the focus is on the Runoffs and ARRC.

For those of you that dont know, the race for the SARRC championship is tied at the top with Tucker and Fusner both having maximum points going into the SIC. Here are the points so far

144 Tucker
144 Fusner
129 Brock
125 Topping
113 Hughes
103 Giles
93 Blanchard
92 Harrel
86 Lawson
81 Thompson

With the SIC being a double points race (48pts max), if the top two don't finish then its anyones championship, and all the way down to 10th place in points could mathmatically win.
And of course you can get taken out in Turn 1, like I did in 2009, so its not a done deal by any means.

There is a great write up by Thomas Little on the SEDiv website, Who Will Win the SIC, and he gives Tucker the nod over Fusner for 1st and Brock the nod over Topping for 3rd.

If Brocks shirt is anything to go by, I think he has his mind set on the top step of the podium. Its gonna be one helluve finale!

Satire is primarily a literary genre or form, although in practice it can also be found in the graphic and performing arts. In satire, vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, and society itself, into improvement.[1] Although satire is usually meant to be funny, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit as a weapon.

The schedule seems to show groups combined for qualifying; SM with the small formula cars. Is that correct?

In the afternoon, we need to keep moving so we can get in the ECR race and be finished before 5 PM. Other wise, the fees for ambulance and wrecker get really expensive. So, we are using the same system they use at Road Atlanta, clean up every other group. On the schedule page it says--
"For afternoon sessions, there will be no break between groups 1 & 2,3 & 4, 6 & 7 . Thus, please bring your car to the grid as soon as the group in front of you goes on track"

It means group 1 will qualify, then group 2 will go out as soon as the last group 1 car gets off the track. Then, group 2 will qualify and then we'll have clean up if necessary. Then group 3, etc.

So, I hate to disappoint all of you but SM will not go out with FV, etc. You will have your own qualifying session.

As Danny points out, the Championship is wide open this year.

See all of you Saturday.

BTW, the workers have been invited to bring any used books either paperback or hard back to have a book exchange. If you'd like to join in, please do so. We did it at tech for the Runoffs and it was really popular. Books will be in lunch area.

And if you are not registered yet and want to come, send me a email and we'll waive the late fee. jcreig53@mindspring.com You must do this before 5 PM Thursday. We need 2 more SM entries to make a 30 car field!

I had an issue with the car in qualifying but that is now fixed; although it came a bit late as I will have to start 7th. However my car is real strong and should be good for the race. The ECR went well and I ran the fastest time beating out Mr. Fowler by .001 for the fast time. Jeff and I were 1st and 2nd until we both ran out of gas with about 4 to go. LOL! Congrats to Glen Stephens and Mr. Bogart who took home first and second. Should be a fun race tomorrow!

See the results are up on MyLaps - not sure if there are any protests or tech issues, but the provisional results are
  • Thompson
  • Labounty
  • Topping
  • Tucker
  • Hughes
  • Stephens
  • Anderson
  • Martin
  • Hart
  • Snow
See Brock finished way back in 16th and Fusner in 23rd. (Fusner just edged out Tucker with the fastest race lap of 1:23.162 vs 1:23.166)

By my calculations that gives Jamie the 2011 SM SARRC Championship (if no tech or protest issues) over Thompson, and possibly Topping.

Congrats Jamie - you were solid all year. Look forward to getting the full race report.
