Going to run the Cascade 8 Hour Enduro at PIR October 15th. Any recommendations regarding adequate lights upgrade as race will end at 9pm...so about 3 hours in the darl I suspect. Would upgrading to 7" Hella replacement headlights be enough?? Thanks....

It's possible to run at night on stock headlights. Not advisable though.
When light shopping, the shape of the beam cast by the light is of utmost importance. Also, keep in mind that you can cheaply upgrade halogen lights to HID using kits from ebay.
I have heard the expensive banks of LED lights are probably the best though.

Bill, contact TC Motorsports and ask them about the light bar they ran years ago. (2006-ish) They might still have one laying about, was super clean and worked wonders.

4 Hella 500's is typical for the experienced Chumpcar teams. We tried it with stock lights converted to H4 bulbs at the BIR 14 hr. and were severely lacking.

I ran the 2010 Devil in the Dark, and for lighting replaced the stock headlights with two Hella E-Code headlights (high beam was 100 watt, if I rememeber), and on a separate light bar had two Hella FF200s for driving lights and two Hella Micro DEs as cornering lamps. I got the lights and the lighting harness from here: http://www.rallylights.com/
My co-drivers, who did the bulk of the night driving, said the lighting was fine. Their only complaint was that the light bar vibrated, so make sure you solidly mount the light bar.

Thanks guys for the great info....any ideas as to the best way to secure a light bar? May also consider Hella upgrade to exiting lights with 2 addititional small yet powerful lights in the grill area....
