oh these guys are out of Madison, WI, I think. That explains their alternate driver then?

LOL, wow, what a "fudge you!" this was:

Because Tucker was cited on a civil—not criminal—contempt charge, he can only be arrested if he sets foot in Colorado. Three weeks later, he did just that. Tucker, who by now was starting his racing career, set a track record in a Ferrari 360 at the La Junta Raceway in Colorado.

The state, not paying attention to Tucker’s racing schedule, missed its chance to arrest him.

Didn't he win T1 or something this year?? GT2 maybe? Not sure but he won something. His was the big yellow enclosed tent at turn 5 that sat empty after he won and left....

Fascinating, thanks Jim. I do not know Scott, but from an outsider's view.... Level 5 seems to have an unlimited budget and spend all of it.

I wonder what the connect is to Microsoft?

Tucker, whom enters two LMP-2 cars in most races with his name listed on both, seems to be the Gorilla of the ALMS.

Yes, Scott has won the runoffs multiple times. Mostly, if not always, in a Ferrari.

Tucker owns a bunch of the "money loan" stores you see all over the slums of big cities. He has over 100 of them. So he basically gets rich off the poor. My old boss used to be friends with him in the Ferrari challenge stuff. He's got stupid amounts of money!

Just about every casino not in Vegas, Atlantic City or Mississippi pays a tribe to "own" the corporation. This reporter is assuming Tucker is the "bad guy" in these business deals. Don't know about you but I've never had a payday advance company force me to take a loan. If you're dumb enough to do it then, I don't know Scott Tucker, he may be as evil as this reporter is making him out to be. The gov't doesn't like anyone stealing from Americans, except for them, so of course they are after him for going with the Indians. They don't pay taxes. If CBS spent half the time they spent on this looking into Solyndra, maybe our gov't would be a little less corrupt then this reporter is trying to make Tucker out to be. :twocents:

Uh...no. Some of them are managed by casino operators but most operate their own with various success. One of the best at it, the Seminoles, are every bit as good as the big timers that do it here in town. The licenses belong to the tribe. The management company isn't allowed to own the license or apply for it.

I didn't say all of them, but look at Hardrock in Florida, Seminoles didn't build that one. But they operate it and own it. That's what I mean, Hardrock still makes a lot of money from that casino, but if they didn't need the Seminoles the Seminoles wouldn't be involved.

Mr. Tucker won the STO race at the Runoffs. Although I do not know if it is true, during the season he reportedly, paid the entries and expenses for several STO drivers for them to qualify for the Runoffs. He also, reportedly, paid the late entry fees for several entrants to the Runoffs, so that there would be ten entrants and the race would result in a national champion. Less than ten entrants you get a trophy, but are not crowned a national champion. Three of the entrants never turned a lap in qualifying or during the race, but did not withdraw, so were counted as entrants. Mr. Tucker normally runs a Ferrari, and used one to qualify for the Runoffs. When it became apparent that the Ferrari might not be the car to win, he arrived with a 996 Porsche. Whether he bought it, for the Runoffs, or rented it, who knows.

The Seminoles own the entire Hard Rock brand including the restaurants. The Seminoles in fact did build all of those properties (IIRC 5 or 6 total) and operated them initially under a naming license then later bought the the entire Hard Rock outright. The only Hard Rock Casino that was owned by Peter Morton, an original Hard Rock founder, was the Las Vegas property and he sold that about 5 years ago. It operates under a naming license deal but the Seminoles were suing them to revoke the name due to issues the Morgan Hotel Group had though they've since lost the property to creditors in bankruptcy.

I've worked in a buttload of tribal casinos as they kept what was an aging client base working well past their "sell by" dates. Your statement that tribal casinos were shell corps for the large operators is patently false.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tucker bought the car at the last minute to win. Few years ago he spent $6 million in one season on the Ferrari challenge to win. Eventually he got all his points taken away cause his car sounded different than everyone elses so tech took it apart and found a ported intake etc.

4.4.6. Refusing an Entry
Even if an entry meets all the requirements outlined in 4.4.1., above, the
organizers have the right to refuse an entry without giving a reason. If an
entry is refused, notification must be sent to the entrant or driver at the
address on the Entry Form as soon as possible, and normally at least 5
days before the event.

Indian tribes or not, payday lending is a disgusting, morally depraved business that preys on poor. Putting the indian tribe issue aside (which is a non-issue for me), the allegations of theft and dishonesty towards his buisness partners suggests this guy has no moral compass.

There's a business connnection between Level 5 and the Microsoft sponsorship. I can't remember the details exactly, but it's something like one of the Microsoft VP's is a fan of ALMS and bridged the two parties. I vaguely remember reading something about it.

Don't be shocked if sooner or later he ends up sharing a bunk with John Paul, Sr.

You heard it here first. Here's the latest: http://www.autoweek..../ALMS/120409952

BTW, as any good lawyer will tell you, there are extremely legitimate ways to sponsor your own racing team, but if you screw it up, it will cost you. There was a big case about that some time back involving Menards. http://www.ustaxcour...rdv.TCM.WPD.pdf

The real problem for Tucker is going to be if this turns into a tax evasion matter.
