We are about a month away from the historic running of the Pacific Coast Road Racing Championships. Entries are already coming in as well as Sponsorship and Contingencies. To date, we have entries from NASA, VARA, and SCCA, with rumors of Porsche and BMW racers joining soon. This is what the event is all about, the opportunity to race your car against others, regardless of Sanctioning Body.

Everyone values their race machine, and concern over aggressive driving has surfaced. Not to worry, as when the Organizers created the unique "Rules and Regulations" for the event, careful consideration was given to the "aggressive" behavior of potential competitors. Specific, enforceable consequences have been identified and will be implemented should the "red mist" get in the way of good clean racing. We have some of the most respected Stewards in all of racing overseeing the on-track activity, and the Flagging and Communication Team are the best trained in the business (Long Beach, F1, ALMS, etc. experienced).

We truly believe that the Spec Miata Community has some of the quickest and best drivers in the Sport, and the Pacific Coast Road Racing Championships offers the unique opportunity to display those characteristics with other racers. Listening to the Miata Racers, we are leaving the door open to a Spec Miata only run group.

Remember, the idea behind the event was an attempt to see beyond the Sanctioning Body constraint. Through some race result analysis, we have grouped cars together with similar lap times to race together to determine "who really is the fastest". Is a VARA Porsche faster than a NASA Miata? If it all works out, it should be up to the driver's ability to take away the title – Fastest in the West!

This is NOT and SCCA event, nor is it a VARA, nor a NASA, nor a POC, nor a BMW event. It's open to anyone holding a recognized Competition License.

Registration is open on Motorsports Reg
