Entered the VIR 13 hour race... got a late start and am scrambling (I know this is not ideal). Our team is more about going to have fun than winning the whole race.

How many tires will I go through for this race? I was told we would be good with one set of new tires and a few of our scrubs that we used this season should be more than fine, but I hear that some of the toyo using guys go through 2 new sets EASY in this race.

Any insight would be great!

Dave, I have run this race muultiple times on Toyos in a spec miata. We've started on 4/32nd fresh RA1s and then only changed left front. Obviously, results will vary based on driving style and car setup. See you down there. Mitch

I've done it with 6 hoosiers. But that was a team that wanted to have fun, not win the race.

We will have 4 stickers and 8 that are about half life. We have 2 new sets of wets. So sounds like we should be OK? (if we want to have fun)

Thanks again! We are in a little but of a bind/shuffle logistics wise due to a last minute HUGE change (went from sharing a crew to no loner sharing)
