I overheard someone from another manufacturer, 6 races with Grand-Am. No big tracks, no current Grand-Am license, no driver champ, only manufacturer champ. Can anyone confirm this?

Irish Mike’s Racing is now taking orders for B Spec Ford Fiesta’s. We currently have two cars under construction. IMR has several years of successfully building road race ready BMW, Mercedes, Subaru’s and VWs. IMR is using their recent success building race winning World Challenge VW Jettas and moving forward to the B Spec series. We believe that B Spec is the future of affordable Club and Pro racing.

IMR also provides all types of race car services. Interested parties should contact Peter at keane575@cfl.rr.com or 321-863-9707.

No rules yet, but they are testing this week to balance them. Hopefully they'll have rules and schedules soon after.

The first draft of rules are in the updated GCR under the Showroom Stock section. We are working on a B Spec only document. We will know more after Wed.

Well....who showed up and what were the results?

I'd like to know what is planned to keep the cars equal considering there is a HUGE difference in hp numbers like the Kia compared to the yaris, mazda2 and fiat 500?

http://wot.motortren...oor-125071.html

Now i don't mind competition but seriously, how are you going to get a 100 hp mazda 2 on an equal playing field with a 138 hp monster like the Kia?

We could sit here and say weight and restrictors but we all know how that works for the 99 miatas in scca.....

Unless the parties involved are adamant to make b spec fair it's DOA on arrival.

I ran The Allien on the dyno again yesterday. AC delete kit installed, home made 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust with Flowmaster muffler. Still only 94 HP. Same as stock.

Starting to get nervous that Ford and Kia are going to go after the class with heavy hitters, and put us club racers in a bad situation.

Hey Dave, you'll find plenty of cheese in Wisconsin to go with that whine. :)

Nothing a restrictor plate and some ballast can't correct.

By June all the B-spec guys will be coating their lugnuts and alternator belts. If ever a sealed motor program was to be implemented, now is the time for this class.

The 4 cars at the test looked pretty cool. Didn't realize how "big" the Honda is. The Fiat is the only one with a different shape to it. It would have been nice to see the Chevy, Kia and Toyota there as well. I'm sure as much as Mazda likes SM, they must love the idea of racing something they have available to sell other than the 3. There aren't many race series that could have seven or eight manufacturers involved. Looking forward to this next year. Probably going to run World-Challenge and Grand-Am

I heard that the Kia lost a couple of engines and a tranny in testing before this "official" test.

Well, JP3, maybe add one more to the list. Watching and waiting for B Spec while the MX-5 is parked. Not sure if I want it to be a dying SSB, an underpowered T3, a future SM5, or STL.

World-Challenge leaked their intent at SEMA.

9 races done in British Touring Car format of three sprint races per weekend.

Three events and all televised. Miller, Streets of Detroit and Mosport.

Add to this 6 events Grand-Am is Rumored to do.

More as I get details.
