Prior to the last round of upgrades I could cut&paste excepts from my external blog directly into the MR.com blog editor. Today, I added my new entry (with accompanying image link), and it appeared to paste as normal: the image and text were all there as expected. However, when I saved the image the resulting post was EMPTY. I tried several variations, and it seems that whenever I paste an image from my external blog the post gets wiped.

I tried to switch to the HTML editor, and as soon as I do, the post content is erased. So, I'm guessing that it doesn't like something about the HTML content from the cut&paste...but, since I can't see what pastes in (in html format) I don't know what it might not like.

I've been doing it this way since day one (40 odd entries). The last time I successfully did this was my October 4th entry, my October 8th entry didn't have any images in it, so I don't know if the issue existed at that time.

My normal process has been:
  • Publish the entry on my external blog
  • View my external blog front page (which only shows the abstract post version with a "more link").
  • Highlight the "more link" and the body of the abstract (excluding the tag and author lines), and copy to clipboard,
  • On MR.com/Blogs, create a blog new entry, and paste into the editor.
  • Add a title, and save-as-draft.
  • Review the draft, update as needed, and then publish the new entry.
My blog is a self-hosted Wordpress 3.2.1 blog. I haven't made any upgrades between Oct 4th and now.

When I paste the picture into an HTML editor the code below is what I see. Dunno if any of this might be the issue (presumably it is), Its always worked before. I can work around it, its just a little more trouble. I did some googling, and didn't really find anything specific...but, admittedly its kind of obscure, and I may not have hit on the right search terms. The only thing I found was:

http://forums.addoni...a-1.6-Update-24

But, that didn't seem directly on point. However, if you think it is, I'm running java build 27 (build 1.6.0_27-b07). I'm getting a notice that a new version is available...I just can't always be bothered to keep up with Oracle. I'll update if you think its worthwhile. Here's the code:

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 15px; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: rgb(215, 228, 189); "><a href="http://www.tomhampton.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/P1010070.jpg" rel="wp-prettyPhoto[g2568]" style="color: rgb(255, 153, 0); font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline; "><img title="P1010070" src="http://www.tomhampton.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/P1010070_thumb.jpg" alt="P1010070" width="184" height="244" align="left" border="0" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; border-top-style: solid; border-right-style: solid; border-bottom-style: solid; border-left-style: solid; border-top-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-right-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-bottom-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-left-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-top-left-radius: 3px 3px; border-top-right-radius: 3px 3px; border-bottom-right-radius: 3px 3px; border-bottom-left-radius: 3px 3px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; "></a></span>
