"On Thursday, July 29 a band of 24 '? 46 'V hull and catamaran, trucks, trailers and exotic toys start arriving in the village of the race. By Friday, these amazing animals, offering speeds of over 180 + miles per hour hit the water for testing."

For the feature race each of eighteen 36 foot catamarans racing had a helocopter with diver in full wet suite in the air following over each catamaran during the race. They hauled these 36 footers on a diagonal sideways on an open semi trailer.

IIRC we have an X Hydroplane boat pilot out of FL driving a Spec Miata.
