I'm planning on doing a track day with my Mazda2 next weekend at Pacific Raceways. For those of you who've tracked/raced your Mazda2s, what front brake pads do you recommend and where do you get them?

I have run 2 compounds of Hawks, DTC 30 and DTC 60 compound. I think I liked the 30 better, but the 60s lasted longer. Only 2 weekends on the car and soooo many improvements being made that I don't have a clear recomendation. YET!!!!!

Call me tomorow at the shop and I can get a set to you.

I also tried the oem pads at a track day, lasted 1.5 LAPS before I drove off the end of the track with brake fade.:((

You should call Chris or Danny at Carbotech. I ran their XP20 compound on both the Mazdaspeed3 and Mustang FR500S this year. Their pads are rotor friendly and It has great initial bite and release. Contact them at 877-899-5024.
