I wanted to say a quick Thank You to all our friends, sponsors, team members and competitors. The MiataCage / BF Goodrich Tires / MazdaSpeed Motorsports E3 entry finished on the podium in 3rd place and the MiataCage / BF Goodrich Tires / MazdaSpeed Motorsports E2 entry finished just outside the podium in 4th position.

We had our fair share of drama with the E2 car on the test day and ultimately ended up going through 2 motors due to a detonation issue. Luckily we were prepared enough to have extra cars and motors with us, so we swapped out 2 motors from the original one we started with. Needless to say that motor was not our first choice and was dyno'd at 107hp at the track dyno on Saturday morning.

The E3 car encountered less drama, but still encountered a little bit with a dead alternator, and a couple of penalties that cost us some time.

I can't say enough about the crew we put together for this event. We had a few new faces this year and they were all rock stars. I can also guarantee we were the best fed team in the pits. We had a long time crew members father volunteer to show up and cook for us..... Little did we know he brought an arsenal of cooking gear and a smoker that was constantly in use. We had prime rib, chicken, home made apple pies everyday and never even had to think about trying to find something to eat because Bill had us handled throughout the entire race. Thanks Bill!

The BF Goodrich Tires were awesome! We never had any tire issues at all and when you look at the lap times the 107hp E2 car was doing, a large reason why was those BFG's. We had fantastic tire wear and the tires were very predictable throughout the entire race. The BFG team was there for us whenever we needed them and they gave us some great technical assistance that helped us get the most out of the R1's. Thank you PC and team!

A huge thank you also goes out to MazdaSpeed Motorsports. Without MazdaSpeed we probably wouldn't be racing at all. Thank you guys, you are awesome!

I also want to thank Danny at Carbotech. The Carbo's made the entire race and were predictable and performed flawlessly.

Thanks to Jim Drago for being available for us at all hours of the night as long distance 99 technical support.

New for this year for us was working with a charity. I am proud to say that we were able to raise over $5,000.00 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters charity. I want to thank all of you that were in a position to donate to this cause to help us reach our goals. It truly is a great cause and will go to great use.

I am extremely proud to be a part of this SpecMiata community and appreciate all of the thoughts, prayers and encouragement we received. It is greatly appreciated!

Lastly to my team..... You guys are awesome and make my job easy. Ken, Bruce, Will, Jason, and Jonny..... Thanks for letting me be a part of the drive team with you guys. You are all amazing drivers and individuals and I truly appreciate all the hard work and time you have all put into this race. Dave, Josh, Pat, Eric, Jeff, Ed, Bill, Matt, Kai and Brian you guys gave us the ability to simply focus on driving and never had to worry about anything else. Carrie, Cheree, Emma, Sam and Claire, your help with keeping us all in line and smiling is crucial to a successful event. Sometimes we take ourselves to seriously and forget about the big picture.

Congratulations to all who competed, finished and won. We will see you next year!
