Doing some maintenance on the car today getting ready for our next race, and when I went to adjust the RR caliper adjusting bolt, I could not get the allen wrench to go into the head of the bolt. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the head of the bolt is missing. Even stranger, is the fact that I have no idea where it might have gone. there is no fluid leaking, but can this bolt back out and cause a fluid leak? I was going to rebuild a spare set of calipers and remove the adjusters after this race, but concerned that I may need to do this before our next event.

Thoughts or opinions?

It won't leak. The adjusting screw is gone. Several times when setting my rear brakes, I've removed the allen wrench to find the adjusting screw is still on the wrench and not in the caliper. Don't know enough how those innards work to explain what I did, but I stuck it back in there, finished adjusting, reinstalled the nut that keeps it from falling out I guess and I still have non-leaky rear brakes. You need either another adjusting screw, or another caliper. Since I've been told this is a sign I'm going to need to rebuild the calipers or have them fail, I figure I'll send them to Jim and come up with a way to load my car on the trailer with no e-brake.
