Here's the SCCA December 2011 Tech Bulletin:
http://scca.cdn.race...December_TB.pdf

Check out the new B-SPEC rules under the SSC section on pages 4 & 5. Of particular interest are the NEW weights (Paragraph 8 on Page 5).

Mazda2 min race weight is now 2300 lbs. So don't take out your stereo! :)

Actually 2300 is about right. The 2130 originally posted was unrealistic.

I don't think you can get the car below 2250 without getting very creative. We came in at 2279 at the ARRC with a couple gallons of fuel and a 180 pound driver. No ballast and no cool suit.

The new weights are a direct result of the B Spec test. The Fiat 500 and Mazda 2 were way over their original weight. We have shifted everyone up to keep things fair. PK

A fairly complete set of B-spec rules has been posted on the SCCA website

http://www.scca.com/clubracing/content.cfm?cid=44472

I have already sent a reply with my ideas for some tweeks to SCCA.

For anyone interested, I will have suspension and cages kits available within a couple weeks.

1. The rules, as written, prohibit a right side net. Is this intended?
2. The restrictor plate for the Kia looks a bit small.... 23mm??

Otherwise... looks like a good start!

The kits are still open ?? It looks like the manufactures are going to sell the only accepted kits.
I dont seel why. Any spring and fixed shock are legal per rules The cars are not rocket science.
