It' in the wee hours of the morning, and I'm back at the build. Going over the trans I'd removed the speedometer from the dash during the cockpit strip. Don't need to know how fast you are going at the time, (though I'm using data sensors with magnets on the drive shaft) just afterwards and that's what data is for. What are you guys using to plug the hole where the speedo cable exits the trans. Looks like I could salvage the existing fitting with some epoxy, but at this point I'd rather have a more Varsity solution. And I would prefer not to have to turn one down on the mini lathe. Hell, for a brief moment the lying, cheating, bank robbing, murdering part of me considered welding it closed. The Nazi part of me didn't think it was such a good idea. But then St Boemler might give me hell in the afterlife. I've got so much to do, I'd like a bolt on part. What are you guys doing?

On edit, it looks like it's a 22 x 1.5 but my thread gauge has a difficult time fitting in that space. Any tips appreciated.

Dave

Why not put the plug/sensor from a 99 box in the hole?

Let me consult the Al-Qaeda - I'll get back to you.

Could you make a cap by putting an appropriately sized flat, round blank in the OEM threaded collar?

I'd bet Jim found this funny too...
