I like the track, love the area, I would go regardless of whether the Runoffs were there or not. When It was announced that was where the Runoffs was to be held, I made it my home track. All that being said, I agree, it is NOT a great track for SM to hold their national championship.. ( Nor is Mid Ohio IMO) :) I am concerned that this year may be perhaps worse for competition? While I have never run Hoosiers there, I think the superior grip can make a somewhat "easy" track, even easier. One spot that separates many in the field is handling through the carousel and kink. I think this year, those turns should easily be flat for everyone? Power will be at even more of a premium.

I too like racing there but there are better choices of venue for a championship IMO. I don't follow the other 25+ SCCA National classes closely but what I have observed of them the past few years is that rarely do you so see a good competitive race at the Runoffs outside just a very few classes. RA really magnifies differences in cars and the fields are very spread out. Of course most classes aren't very well subscribed which contributes to an uncompetitive field. When the Runoffs were at Mid-Ohio the races seemed a lot more competitive to me across many classes and it's really a fun track IMO compared to several others.

The tire change will be interesting.
