Am I hearing correctly? Are Memphis and Gateway both re-opening this coming season?

Andy and Jim, my National schedule for all Divisions has Memphis listed as a Double Rational on March 31, April 1st and Gateway listed as a single National on May 19/20 and Gateway again as a single National on July 28/29.

Toni & I are going to try to get over to Memphis and help out. Always a great group of volunteers and lots of fun. I'll help with tech and I'm sure they'll try to get Toni to be a Steward.

Track is a lot tougher than it looks on paper

Hello, first post here.
I can't believe there's not one SM entered for Gateway this week. None in ITA either. I won't know what to do on track and not being in their way :) Not too late to enter.

I was registered, but like you I couldn't believe I was the only Sm... So rather than drive around for first and last, I withdrew and decided to head to Atlanta instead. Very sad that Mid Div, SM participation has become a worse than most SS classes :(

Midiv has had three double Rationals and has another one on June 2 & 3 at MAM. St. Louis has two single Regional/National weekends. It is a pretty long tow for the cars in K.C. and Nebraska, so most are doing the double at MAM. With tow costs so high, it is pretty hard to justify spending the money for a single race. That is just my take, as it is the reason I am not going to St. Louis. I do not know why they scheduled their races the way they did.

I think you need to look at the off season thread that you started.. Our division had it's best years in 06/07, been declining since 06. The only track that has any SM attendance in our division is Hallett, Not sure why or where everyone went.. but they all went away. Very sad. Here is same race in 06..

Jim Drago ( too stupid to quit) Charlie James ( still races, limited schedule) Richard Wiese ( went to SRF and law school, limited schedule) Dave Volante (ITS BMW) Steve Scheifler ( not racing since his brother has medical clearance issue with scca) Sam Henry ( F production, rally cross) Stephen Johnson ( short man syndrome :) races occasionally) Jarrod Igou ( splits ITS BMW with Volante) Mike Asselta ( still racing, limited schedule) Raymond Yergler ( ITA, limited schedule) Tom Kraft (Still races SM, limited schedule) Roger Johnson ( retired) Mark Zwolle ( moved to Atlanta, not racing much at all) Dan Cook ( don't know Dan) Scott Moore ( part of saferacer crew, only ran 1-2 seasons) Rick Harris ( Fprod) Tim Blythe ( don't know Tim)

I agree with wheel that the schedule is really tough with 3 Midiv events within 6 weeks. Everyone has to pick 1 or two at most to go to as the days of doing them all seems over (in Midiv at least). And even if you could afford the travels costs, that schedule doesn't leave much time for the home life and prepping cars.
We have four SM's sitting at our shop that haven't moved in years.
FYI, Tim Blythe is an open wheel guy who must have dabbled in SM at some point. He has an FF that also hasn't run in a couple years.
Have fun in Atlanta. There's tons of Miatas down in that region.
