**WORK IN PROGRESS** 2012 East Coast, Mid Atlantic, Northeast track season.

The purpose of this thread is to maintain a relatively comprehensive list of track days for the 2012 Season. This time I am NOT stealing from a good friend of mine to compile all of this, so I am sure there will be mistakes! Let me know if you see any or want to add any and I will try to keep the list up to date with new events as they come in.

Track dates are at the following circuits:
Summit Point (SP), Virginia International Raceway (VIR), New Jersey Motorsport Park (NJMP), Barber Motorsport Park (BARBER), Pocono Raceway(POCONO), BeaveRun Motorsports Complex (BEAVERUN), Monticello Motor Club (MONTICELLO), Watkins Glen International (THE GLEN) and North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR).

THE TRACKS:

The Summit Point Motorsports Park has three distinct circuits: Summit Point Main, Shenandoah and Jefferson. Shenandoah will be the site of the LOG 30 track day.

Virginia International Raceway has several configurations. Most events are run on the "Full" track.

New Jersey Motorsports Park has two circuits: Lightning and Thunderbolt.

Barber Motorsports Park was the venue for many events at LOG 29. The flowing layout is well suited for Lotus.

Pocono Raceway utilizes the infield to accommodate sports car events.

North Carolina Center for Automotive Research is a brand new multi-purpose automotive facility located just south of the VA/NC border on I-95.

I'll continue to update as I get more dates. I will be at all Summit Point weekend dates in my #63 ITA Miata.
I instruct with Summit Point FATT, Mazda Drivers, NASA, Track Daze, LOG, and more.

If you have any questions... although I am not a representative of any of these guys, I can certainly help you track down the right people.

Dave if we come to the Feburary event at VIR with a tech sheet and log book filled out by a NASA approved Shop, will we still have to Pay for the tech fee or will they just run us throught at that point and give us a sticker? This would me my first NASA event this year and would not have the annual sticker yet.

I don't think they charge a tech fee at NASA or SCCA.

With NASA, absolutely no tech fee for HPDE.
I think they charge for a logbook, but not an annual (I didn't pay for one last year at Hyperfest).

The NASA Mid-Atlantic folks are GREAT at responding (usually). Shoot him a mail and let us know what he says.

PROPOSED means--one, some, none, or all of the out-of-region events may be eliminated if we can't come to terms with the hosting regions:

• April 21-22: Summit
• May 12-13: VIR (Double)
• May 26-27: Watkins Glen (Probably Double / Fun One format -- one day on short course, one on full course)
• June 9-10: Summit
• June 30-July 1: NJMP (Lightning)
• July 14-15: Summit
• August 4-5: Nelson Ledges
• August 18-19: Charlotte Motor Speedway (lots of sanctions incl. a Sat-night enduro, but only one will be a MARRS race)
• September 1-3: Summit (Labor Day Double)
• October 6-7: Summit (non-MARRS)

Sounds like there will be *two* drops for 2012, regardless of how many out-of-region events stay on the schedule.
If you are in it to win the series, you will need to do some traveling.

I'll update the list above in post #1 once the schedule becomes final.

Just got this from one of our guys at WDCR SCCA:

I haven't heard this from our folks yet, but this was just posted on IT.com by Central Carolina Region's SARRC representative:

Just got word we can announce a change to our August 18/19 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This year it will be a combined MARRS/SARRC double weekend with double CCPS pro series (http://www.carolinacupproseries.com/) running under the lights Saturday night. Big bore will also run at dusk under full lighting for their second race of the weekend.

CCR and the SEDIV are looking forward to racing with our friends in the MARRS series and showing some southern hospitality. We take a break Saturday afternoon and cook a dinner for everyone then turn on the lights and go back racing.

So I updated the scheddy. Enjoy.
