I'm creating an exhaust pipe for my FP car. Ironically, I don't have a lot of experience with NA cars in near stock condition. What I need to better understand is how the exhaust mounts as it travels past the differential and half shaft.

Would someone please either post a photo or point me to a photo that would show me how I could route mine?

Fred why would you want to go over the diff, half shafts? Most prod cars I see just exit in front of the tire.

Glenn, I'm considering all options, but also trying to keep the pipe as straight as possible.

The routing of the SD exhaust is as straight and clean as can be. Basically straight back along the drivers side of the PPF, over the half-shaft, and done.

If I were to describe the path a 1.6 Miata SD exhaust takes I would say. Basically straight back, drivers side of the drive shaft, UNDER the half shaft, just beyond the rear subframe angled down and done. &
