2-1/2 hours to go and McNish and Almendinger in a boxing match at 180mph - this is some great racing. ANd then Ganassi gets Pruett in the 01 car out ahead of them all on the FCY - this is going to be one helluva finish!!!!

WOW - what a race in DP - one of the best ever and its the 50th!!!! Thrilled for AJ especially after McNish's comments and McNish running him off in T2.

While I have always appreciated Pruett's talent, it was fun hearing him complain about his disadvantage to the Ford power, This after a number of years of always having the superior power plant. I seem to recall many races where he sandbagged only to press the go button when it counted. Congratulations to Michael Shank Racing for the P-1 & P-3 finishes after so many years of trying. Every once in a while the little guy pulls out a big win. Go MSR!

Being a big Montoya fan, I watched a few years ago when the Porsche DP cars drove away with inferior drivers. Ganassi is by far the best team in Grand Am, they receive " rewards weights"every few years it seems. Grand AM seems good at giving every manufacturer "their turn" to win. The BMW had no chance against Ford or Chevy power plants this year. The BMW is handicapped because of Ganassi's success last year. Anyone watching that race saw the Ganasssi cars faster through the infield and getting clobbered on the banking.
That being said, I was rooting for AJ and Michael Shank racing, great bunch of guys.

We were watching it in person yesterday at a VIP Mazda trailer with food flat screens and drinks right at the exit of the bus stop... MAN thats where all the action was. We saw at least 20 cars go off there and a crash involving a RX-8 spinning and a DP car hitting it. We were rooting for the Gainsco Corvette, but that didn't work out. Happy for AJ though, it was a great race.

They kept mentioning the last time a Ford won the 24 was 1999. The Dyson racing Riley and Scott MK 3 was at the track for the past winners celebration. It belongs to one of my Trans-Am customers (he also owns Dorsey Shroeders Raybestos Mustang). I have driven the car, coolest car I have ever driven. 600+ horsepower and the harder you drive into the corner, the better it sticks.

Having known Pruet since before he had a "Family back home", I was pulling for him to tie Hurley Haywards record of 5 overall victories.
