my side mirror broke off

just snapped right off!!!
so how do I replace it ? can't find where there's a screw or other device to turn to get it off so I can put an new one on..

Pop the plastic cover around the base. You will see a small slot for a flat head screw driver to do this. There will be two phillips head screws. HEAT THEM UP FIRST. Most likely the were installed 20 years ago with lock-tite. The are EASY to strip the heads on. I normally replace them. Get a new mirror and you are ready to go.

Sometimes a little dab of silcone near the snap tab so you can still break it loose again.

Carefully remove the black plastic ring surrounding the glass, remove the rusted broken bolt, replace bolt, tighten to your satisfaction, replace glass and use silicone to replace the black surround. When all is dry put the mirror back on the car.
