Possible dumb question ... Having seen mention of shimming the steering rack (between it and the sub frame), am I correct in asuming that the idea is to "elevate" the rack relative to the spindle to lessen the effect of bump steer?
If so, what is the fabrication method that's being employed?

Well, I am not an expert, but if my geometry is right, shimming will actually increase the bump steer. Raising the steering rack moves the inside end of the tie rod even MORE out of plane with the LCA than it already is. If you could lower the steering rack and shorten the tie rods enough you can eliminate the bump steer. I guess that is why the 99's front subframe is better than the NA and NB. I am sure Collins will let me know if I am wrong......
