IMG motorsports will be racing in the old Grand-Am/MX-5 slot on Memorial day at LRP. There is a possibility of a feature race with prize money for the day.....

Any interest?

Phew...... that was a close one!

I'm 70% sure I'm going to try and make this event. Depends on the family plans and how the waves look.

PTS will be track support for this also. The powers that be ( We are in that group) are deciding between a SM feature race or a Spec E30 race. There will be Bucks of some sort for prizes, possibly with a set of wheels up for grab too. It would be great to make this an annual event. There has to be minimum 20 paid entries........C'mon with 2200 SCCA SMer's and 800+ NASA SMer's this CAN happen.

I believe there is a Watkins Glen SCCA Regional the day before. That might affect entries.

There is, also a NASA event at NJMP that weekend. But this possibly could turn into a "special event".......good prizes - tires/wheels/money/other merchandise. Kinda like the ITfest, ARRC, etc.

I'm looking at it like this: It's a long weekend that I usually spend with the family.....now I have a chance to only use one day of that to race....and it's close to home for me.

Actually speaking of family....Anyone know if this is going to be a spectator friendly event? I know once at LRP I had to add a bunch of people to my crew for the father's day race.

I don't have any answers to the questions here but you might want to reach out to Charlie at IMG and ask him directly - http://imgracing.com/

As others have noted, there's an SCCA double Regional (Glen Region) at The Glen plus a NE Region event at NHMS along with a school. I imagine it might be interesting getting drivers to pick between being an instructor vs. racing at the Glen (long & short I imagine) vs. racing at LRP. ;)

What are we looking at for entry costs? I'm already committed to doing the Pro-IT supporting race over Mother's Day for Grand-Am at NJMP-Thunderbolt and that's a $500 entry fee for a double-points weekend (2 races). Though they're not calculating any prize money for it due to the high entry fee...

Devilish mind at work here: race the double-regional at the Glen, then drive to LRP for the support race! Wonder what the wife would think? ("You crazy SOB!!!") :king:

It's a triple double weekend at NHMS...6 races if you double dip!
