interesting that she put her hands on her helmet, I know your supposed to take your hands off the wheel. I guess the helmet is as good a place to put them.
I've crossed mine over my chest, esentially going into a fetal position once "This could really hurt." crossed my mind. You don't want them flailing around. In crash tests I've seen, they tend to move like cracking a whip. They probably won't help your head much. That's a lot of weight seeing a lot of Gs.

Danica and Pounding now that is a GL's racers wet dream
You guys got to get it out of the gutter. I would never think that way.
What do you expect from a 21 year old guy?

Loked like she was putting them between the wings of the containment halo so they don't flap around.

I was impressed how she handled the post race interview. No whining, just racing.
No doubt she got some coaching after a memorable interview where she made big news for her whining.

Maybe the same PR advice that Lewis Hamilton got last year...
I have a lot of respect for what Danica has done. She obviously works very hard for what she has achieved and does this in - to say the least - a male dominated sport. I imagine she is pretty tough mentally, maybe even with a big ego, and would have to be so to handle the bizarre combination of adulation and abuse (often sexual) she gets thrown at her. I went to the Izod Baltimore race last year and was wandering around the paddock. The crowds around her truck were huge and the numbers of young girls wanting to meet her was encouraging for our sport (unless of course you believe that just us guys should be having fun...).
Anyway it would be fun to see her kick some NASCAR butt - although that's probably a tall order given that some very talented open wheel drivers have tried to move over without any dominance in the sport (except maybe Stewart who grew up with lots of roundy round racing)

My wife is related to Danica's husband. I can tell you she has a big ego off the track as well

Having broken a thumb on a steering wheel at the end of the '09 season, I've altered my mental preperation for impact. (Fortunately since that incident, I haven't had to execute it)
