Old Hoosier rains would be DONE in one race if it dried out. Phenomenal grip but you sacrifice durability! Were used by many over the years in the ECR and ProIT series with open tire rules

But Hoosier Rains make anyone look like Jensen Button in the rain, (or like Barry Sheene for anyone with old two wheel memories)

The tires are definitely good compared to the Toyo Rains. And this is the truth, not ARRC smoke and mirrors ;)

My set had six or seven sessions on them and they are going to be used for intermediate usage. They are not going to be useful as full rains any longer. Craig Berry and Bill Collings had the right program with multiple sets of rain tires.

Maybe we need a separate thread on Hoosier Rains so we dont completely hijack this one

And BFC, gives me great pleasure that you still think I was playing wrt tires at the ARRC. Told you straight up then and now!!!

And Jim, nah - not in those leagues!

The start of Sunday's race was RIDICULOUS!

There was so much spray where I was in mid-pack, going into 1 I was on the radio to my wife saying I couldn't see ANYTHING! Not other cars, not the edge of the track, where I was on the track, but I was following the rest of the loonies at WFO.

Just scream if something happens so I can try to stop.

Somehow we all made it through...definitely the best bunch of racers around.

Congrats to Trevor and Blake on their wins during "The Great Flood of '12"

But the real question, who is this rainmeister Trevor McCallion? 24th to 1st! Wow. Did Trevor get lucky or did he just show us that he has some real fast wet weather hands and drive the wheels off the car in the rain? Either way, one hell of a win in that field - congrats Trevor. Wish you many more.

Trevor is the NASA Texas Spec Miata Director. He is a really solid driver who has taken some time getting accustomed to the the 99's habit of not being pitched around like his previous NA 1.8. He has always been fast in the rain and proved it again. His Saturday qualifying session was on Toyo RA 1's. Look at the difference between his qualifying times and those of the top 5 (except Blake, he was in another league). That gives you an idea in the difference in grip.

+1

Trevor has always been good in the wet. In years past, I could hang with him, but not on Saturday, try asI might...

Danny- I was thinking "'aught twelve", especially since we were in Aggieland "Where men are men and sheep are scared" but decided against it.

Your call since your the PR Dude.

Some misc video of the water follies that took place. I'm still impressed at the lack contact given the condition, great job by everyone in miserable conditions. Trevor's run to the front on Sat is legendary, that was his first time ever on the H2Os. (I saw parts of his video that would make Danny proud of his car control).

That was a lot of rain! Now that I have had time to cry in my beer and reflect on the wet weekend, I would like to thank Drago, My dad and Robert for all the work. Congrats to Trevor and Blake! Trevor, also thanks for convincing me to to take the bars off for Sunday.....WAY EASIER to go fast. I felt very happy with 3rd on Sat., thats all the car and I had. Sunday was a diferent story....car felt amazing with the bars off. Last lap started thinking to much. Blake and Aaron are both to good to have a terrible last lap. Racing in the SE and SW is tough every race, but thats how you get better. I learned a lot from this one.

PS....James you always have a backup career as a tree trimmer!
