I was reading some other posts about setting the timing belt and noted comments about it usually taking a couple of attempts to get the belt set correctly. If I remember it was mentioned that there were 19 belt teeth in between some points that I didn't really understand at the time or it wasn't quite clear.

So tonight we were continuing our engine build and setting the timing belt was where we are at. Followed the FSM and everything seems good but I wanted to double check with you all on this.

Attached is a picture of the belt and I have placed two arrows on the pic that show the points where I counted 19 teeth in between and just inside of the two hash marks on the cam pulleys. I assume this is correct as the number of teeth matched the 19 tooth count mentioned in the other post.

Would you guys mind taking a look at the pic and providing some reassurance to a paranoid builder?

Thanks again.

J

Seems to be good, from my understanding alot of people go by the E and I on the gears that face the marks on the backing plate. Yours seems to be right on, on your exhaust cam the I points towards the timing mark and on your intake cam the E points towards it, you should be good to go!
