I have a hardtop that the previous owner completely stripped out and removed the nuts embeded into the front drivers 3 holes for the mount. I have some ideas on ways to fix them as the rest of the threaded holes are just fine. I have looked for threaded inserts to put in to replace them but I have been unable to locate anything that takes a large screw like the metric one originally used.
Below is the closest inserts I have found.
Threaded Insert Type 1 Press
Threaded Insert Type2
Anybody else out there have a solution for ripped out inserts on the front edge of a hardtop?
THANKS

Couldn't you use some "T" nuts in 1/4 size? They approximate the size of the 6mm bolts. Epoxy or JB Weld them in place.

I am thinking about injecting some epoxy or JB Weld into the existing hole and re-drilling the hole to 3/8" and installing these.

Only one way to find out if this will work and that is to try it.
