With the 2012 rule change increasing weight on the 1.6 to 2,300lbs, I needed to add some ballast to my nice, light early 1990 car. To make a long story short, I researched the various options out there and decided on the East Street Racing Ballast System. I'm a cheap bastard overall but I don't like to cheap out when safety is at risk.
I just finished installing it in my car. Figured I'd post a link to my blog with some pics I snapped and background on my decision to spring the money for this "best in breed" product for safely adding ballast to your Spec Miata.

Hope someone finds this useful.

We've been using the E Street systen in all our new builds and it works like a charm. Jim has taken the work out of that equation all you need to do is make a call and install it when the ups man deliveres it. Thanks Jim.

Thanks guys! Hoping I can actually use one some day in the near future
At 2400 in SM, I am about 10 lbs over in my car
When I finish the STL car, I will have to add one with that weight being 2480.
