Yo, anyone planning on coming to this Double National at Mid Ohio June 1-3 we need more of you SM guys to come play.

This is a super Tour event so that means extra goodies.

Actually, as Cincy Region's Race Chair for this event, I'll probably be helping the National Staff with the podium ceremonies while trying to avoid the spraying of the champagne. So I won't be running in the races.

Seriously, why are there only 3 entrants in SM (less than 4 week away)? A Double National, running at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the GLD BFG SuperTour event, great parties, you don't have to pass my slow ^$$, and a lot more.

$560 for 2 hours, 40 minutes --- or wait one week and $250 for 3 hours, 15 minutes

PS: how many GreatLakes drivers entered the Runoffs last year?

No idea how many ran in the Runnoffs last year? I was qualified, and were it not for NASA's champs at Mid Ohio, I would have gone. Probably wont go to runoffs again this year...

Biggest reason I can see why there are only 3 signed up, is that there just isnt that much interest in our region to race Nationaly. Maybe its economics, maybe it perception, maybe it's just that people feel there is enough challenge to racing regionaly.

I am striving to improve as a driver, thats why I have been doing a little more traveling. There are many, many, many talented guys who pretty much only show up to a regional at Mid Ohio, and they race nowhere else. They cannot race this national on their regional license. IMO if this was a Rational, those very guys would already be signed up for this race even at the $560.00, they pay 379 to race NASA for about 2 hrs of track time.

I think we just need to resort to name calling the some of the national SCCA drivers to motivate them to come up and TRY to kick our butts. it looks like easy runoff points?

I wonder if the change in qualifying for the runoffs has been a factor?

_{Dont look now, but this event probably wont be the largest field of SM's I have been in, but it will be a very competitive crew. Several from Florida, are coming, and I should mention IL. The IL. guy has been on fire so far this year. plus a few of us locals, and even last years winner from MI.}

Last year Bednarz ran a great race, had my hands full with him till a SRF decided he didnt like me contending for a win...

I don't argue your point, If I had to name all the talant that was better than me i would be naming the entire list, Just pinging the group to get them fired up, guess I will just have to do it at the track.

Less than 24 hours to sign up on-line for the GLD Super Tour / GLD Race of Champions event at Mid-Ohio this next weekend. This double-national has some very strong talent coming feom the South - I assume on their march to the June Sprints. SM has their own race group, but is the smallest group at only 20 entries. Let's bring out the Miatas and have some fun!
