hey all. well im building a car (96 1.8 miata) that was running st5 and ive been plugging away at repairs and safety precautions and i found a coolant leak. removed the skid plate and found some coolant leaking from under the crank. motor is dry under where i took off the water pump pulley after i had already removed the power steering pump and i loosened and removed the bracket to remove the a/c pump(tommoro) so i guess these are my questions

does the waterpump have a weet hole back in the timing belt area?(waterpump and timing belt replaced 10,000 ago)
any information on the correct way to depower the (96) power steering rack?
ill have more questions to follow.

Best thing is to do a coolant system pressure test to locate the leak. You can 'rent' the coolant system pressure tester from your local auto parts store. Sometimes they call it a radiator pressure test since it attaches to the radiator on the Miata.

Yes, there is a weep hole in the water pump. It is not visible until you remove the pump. I would bet at least 2 cents that the pump is leaking.
