Hey guys. I know this is OT for Spec Miata but I spend a couple hours this WE trying to find the best way to go from a ATL fuel cell -8 AN fitting to a 5/16 hose.
I'm finishing the build on our Lemon for the 24h of Buttonwillow in June and I'm stuck with this.
What I did so far:
I have some -8AN to 1/2 barb that I could also used but don't have too.
My original plan was 1/2 barb to 1/2 hose, barb-barb reducer to 5/16 hose and I'm done. However I have not found 1/2 barb to 5/16 barb. So back to square one.
Help please!

OT SM: how to go from a fuel cell -8AN to 5/16 hose?

That's a pretty non standard combo. If anyone knows Earl's Indy will have a solution. They have the capability to custom fab if you have to go that route.

male or female off the fuel cell? I assume male? Then perhaps this:
8AN to 6AN reducer, followed by a 6 to 4 reducer: https://www.pegasusa...sp?Product=3249
4AN to 1/8 NPT female (not exactly right but should work: https://www.pegasusa...sp?Product=3208
Then the 1/8 NPT to barb : https://www.pegasusa...s.asp?RecID=903
Alternately...
-8 to -8 swivel coupling: https://www.pegasusa...sp?Product=3238
-8 to -4 reducer: http://www.lpiracing...-1054p45598.htm
Then the two previous barb couplings??
8AN to 6AN reducer, followed by a 6 to 4 reducer: https://www.pegasusa...sp?Product=3249
4AN to 1/8 NPT female (not exactly right but should work: https://www.pegasusa...sp?Product=3208
Then the 1/8 NPT to barb : https://www.pegasusa...s.asp?RecID=903
Alternately...
-8 to -8 swivel coupling: https://www.pegasusa...sp?Product=3238

Then the two previous barb couplings??

Pegasus is the go to place for me for most race plumbing but Earls is where the big boys go. The issue with using an AN union is that AN 6 is 3/8" tubing OD AN 4 is 1/4". The difference in fit could be an issue. What we've done in the stock cars is replace the fuel line all the way to the carb then reduce at the carb as we can get unions that fit the carb and do the reduction. But that doesn't help if foto wants to keep the same OD tubing.

OK, I think this is what I'm going to do... I found a -8AN female (that screws directly to the cell) to 3/8 barb at Summit Racing.
Then try to force the 5/16 hose to the 3/8 barb. Should work.

That could do it. I'd use a hose clamp on the connection just to be sure.
Roger that!
