You guys know if the engine from the Automatic Mazda Miata 92 1.6L can be used, and specifically, is it the same engine? I would use my old ECU.

It's not the same. As I recall it's got lower compression and different cams. Generally useless, except for some spare parts.

My manual shows the manual with 9.4:1 compression, and the automatic with 9.0:1. Not sure which components change, though (it'll be either pistons or rods, or perhaps both). Are you suggesting the CR difference is an error, Jim?
PS: there are a number of drivers locally who I would encourage to use an auto engine, but they all seem to finish ahead of me.
