How about adding a forum for open wheel Mazda formula cars like the current Star Mazda Pro car, and the older Formula Mazda (I own and race an FM)? We race Mazdas too!

It's not my fault. The cockmamie avatar import system here says you can adjust the crop, but you can't.

Nothing there that fits the bill. Are the powers that be here totally adverse to bringing in the Mazda rotary open wheel racers in a new subforum? I forgot Formula Enterprise, which is also a Mazda-powered, dedicated race car.

When Jim Daniels started the site it was meant to encompass all Mazda racing classes. The problem was that only the Spec Miata folks were interested and with the new interface and a buttload of new forums the core following wanted a change to reduce the number of forums ( a couple had no posts, the other classes had very few posts). Went Jim Drago took over they launched a revamp and it became more SM specific, because frankly, those were the only people posting.

In short, they did try it and no one came. I know Rob Howden of eKarting News tried a formula car forum but it's dead as disco. http://www.eformulacarnews.com/ I bet if you got a sponsor for the forum Drago would host one. ;)

OK. Thanks for the history lesson. I guess I will stay at www.apexspeed.com instead of posting here.

Yeah, this is basically specmiata.com with new packaging. But it's a great racing site!

If you've got some FM friends, have them post here. The posts will be welcome, and if more people join in I'm sire a forum can be created. As Dave says, it's basically a matter of serving those that show up.

Hell, up until a couple of months ago I couldn't have gotten into a Star Mazda tub...... :spin: :offtopic:

Apexspeed looks like it's the place for formula car racers though it's always good to have Mazda racers around. I'm quite pleased with the way they support hobby racing.

Well I'm going to post up anyway. Maybe FM will catch on here. My first W2W race day in an open wheel race car. Buttonwillow Raceway #14-CW 5-19-12 with SCCA/Cal Club. Race Group #5 (open wheel cars). Qualified 2nd out of 2 cars in class, and 3rd of 19 cars in open wheel race group. Finished 2nd in class and 4th overall. Bought a CD of photos and a framed print from Vanhap, which I never do. Drove in qualifying and race on a brand new set of Goodyear Eagle stickers, after doing all my practicing over the last 4 months on scrubs. The grip was phenominal.

Richard, one of the best things you can do in any race car is install a camcorder. We'd love to see videos when/if you get them. That car sure looks like fun!

If you guys think you will get some following here, I will gladly start another forum. As they said above, we had so many forums before that no one posted in.

I can't believe I was able to start one on my own without Caesar :)

Satire is primarily a literary genre or form, although in practice it can also be found in the graphic and performing arts. In satire, vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, and society itself, into improvement.[1] Although satire is usually meant to be funny, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit as a weapon.
