First let me congratulate Bob Thornton for his 5th and 6th wins in SARRC. Steve Burtock, Dillon and Nash also ran great races this weekend!
Now for me, after almost 4 years witout driving I have returned!. Sat qualified 3rd in class and about 12th OA in the CCPS race. I Finished P-4 abouth 11th OA, had a great race with several fellow SM drivers for most of the laps.
Sun. qualified 6th in class and 18th OA. Well my options were pretty slim at the point, so I just got up on the wheel and drove the car!. Finished P-3 and 8th OA. First EVER podium finish!!!!
Thanks to Glenn Long and Long Raod Racing team for the beauitful Hot Rod SM (got lots of complements this weekend) , Race Engineering for the awesome power plant, Carbotech Brakes, cant say enought about them! Team 7 Motorsports for a SAFE well constructed cage, Racing Anelitics for the setup info, and Panic Motorsports for the "spare" hub.
Congrats to Dillon and Nash for their 1/2 finishes both days and to Jim for his 3rd on Sat,, great side by side racing with you guys, we never left a mark even with no "gription" LOL.
It was great racing with all my SE brothers after such a long time away. Cant wait untill Charlotte!!!!!

Glenn,
It was a lot of fun running with you. Good, clean racing that really highlighted the comparitive strengths of the 1.6 and '99. I look forward to seeing you at the track (but somewhere with less straights than Charlotte if you'll be in that car again...)
It was a good first visit to CMP. We got the car sorted out, learned the course reasonably well, collected a lot of data and fun memories, drove the car back onto the trailer and made it back to ATL for dinner. Good weekend in my book!

When you're around these guys you can feel the whirlwind of synergy that's created when teams come together with one common goal in mind - collaborating to win championships. Not only do we tip our hats to the driver, Bob Thorton, on his 6 for 6 run, we also have to tip our hats to all the organizations that have gathered behind him to make that effort possible. The end result is phenomenal, and rest assured, that list is extensive.
