OK, so no SM this Week-End but still some racing.
I'll be there in PTE. Who else?

If I can get our 99 running, I'll be there. Might just be running in SM trim (restrictor plate IN) to do some testing.

Cheers,

I'll be there running without a restrictor plate (as always...it's a 1.6) :spin:

I see we are running the NASCAR chute on Sat, and our Sun race is fairly early. That
will leave me time to bask in Father's Day admiration from my loving offspring......nice
break from just being their ATM.

Stupid question: I haven't run my car on the Dyno without the plate lately. Is it ok to just remove without retuning Fuel Pressure?
Not that I'm planning on winning anything this WE but just curious.
And BTW, this is my first time in PTE. Full SM trim on a 1.8L is legal? Or do I have to change anything?

Lastly: Where do you SM usually setup in the paddock? Are you setting up the night before? I'll be driving Sat morning from the Bay Area, would be great to be close-by during the day... My first event with NASA...

Rich...run in SM trim. No point in changing the car since you are just getting in seat time. But if you did the FP would need to be adjusted. I may come up(especially if anyone needs parts!)and will come find you if I do!

Horrible screaching sound from the front of the motor when I unloaded from the last weekend. Thought it was the alternator, and replaced that. Still screeching. The pulled the waterpump, but it seemed fine. Only then did I bother to take a closer look at the crank pulley. Viola! All but one of the bolts had sheered off and the pulley was wobbling.

I just need to put it all back together, get the cam timing right, etc. That's only a challenge because I'm travelling all week for work :(

Hope to get it done Friday evening.

Cheers,

Dean

Holy cow Dean, Didn't those bolts shear off at Thunderhill? I've never heard of that and it happened to you twice? What is going on with that pulley?
